Introduction

In the very beginning we were trying to find good websites to check out what was what in Cape Town. Well, we weren’t that satisfied with what was available or did any justice to the amazing things Cape Town has to offer.

From that founding though, Going Out is a website that was started to help highlight the very best of what Cape Town has to offer. We also thought that having this coming from people who get out in Cape Town a lot, would add the most value to the website.

Started by Cape Town locals, the idea is to have those in the know (us and our contributors), provide only the best “Things to See and Do“, “Nightlife” and “Events” for the Going Out website.

The aim of the website is it to be so good, that Capetonians and visitors alike use Going Out as the only reference they need for what to do on the weekends and spare time!

Alex Delmont

Alex hails from London, England and now lives in Cape Town, South Africa where he works as a website designer at a small agency in Green Point. Alex tries to keep an even balance between work and play, and when he is out of the office, you will often find him partying up a storm at one of the many music festivals in or around Cape Town, or soaking up the rays on any of our beautiful world class beaches. Alex is the inside man when it comes to concerts, clubs and festivals. He has a knack for knowing when the really great events are happening a few days before anyone else. Now all we need to do is get him to share his secrets on the website!

Nicko Soper

Born in England, Nick has been living in Cape Town on and off for quite a while and even spent a year here and there at a few local schools. While doing his degree, at the University of Plymouth in England, he decided that a good lifestyle was more important than a stable job.

Having spent some childhood years in Cape Town, there wasn’t much of a descision to be made and when he had the opportunity to work in Cape Town for a year, he jumped at the chance. One of Nick’s early ambitions was to learn more about the heart of Cape Town, the streets, the places and get a job! Another of Nick’s passions is surfing, which is probably the real reason he came to Cape Town, so if there are any articles on beaches and the word surf pops up a lot, you will know why! Always looking for new things to do, new people, new restaurants and places to go, we hope Nick will keep the website fresh and fun.

Silvia Mann

Having grown up in various parts of  the African continent, Silvia always dreamed of living in the Cape of Good Hope and now is living the dream in the winelands!  Silvia is a new addition to the Going Out team, she will be doing new articles, proof reading, and in the future,  german translations for articles.
