New Advertising Possibilities

We currently offer banner, skyscraper, and rectangle ads. Some are a bit larger or smaller than standard sizes, so if you want to get creative with the extra space, feel free.

Creative Specifications

These are the specifications the site can currently accommodate.

Full Banner (468 x 60)

• Up to 651 x 92 to work with. GIF, JPEG, or Flash. 45k (maximum) file size.
• This is displayed on the homepage above the “Top Events” block and can be displayed above the content on every page throughout the site.

Leaderboard (728 x 90)

• Up to 958 x 92 to work with. GIF, JPEG, or Flash. 45k (maximum) file size.
• This is displayed throughout the site just above the footer.

MPU / Rectangles

• Up to 300 x 250 to work with. GIF, JPEG, or Flash. 45k (maximum) file size.
• This is displayed throughout the site in the right column.

Additional Specs

• No expanding, floating, pop-up, or in-stream ads.
• 30-second animation (maximum).
• Ad with white background must have a 1-pixel border (minimum).
• ALT tags may contain up to 50 characters (including spaces).
• Sound must be user-initiated (on-click) with clearly identified play and stop controls.
• Flash frame rate must be no greater than 12 frames per second.
• A default GIF must be provided for users without Flash or JavaScript.
• All public policy, advocacy, political or candidate advertising must be clearly identified on every frame.
• Custom arrangements may be available upon request, and are subject to a premium. All ad space is sold on a first-come, first-served basis.

Content of Advertisements

Advertising should not contain material that Going Out considers to constitute or promote discrimination. No adult material, gambling or tobacco advertising will be accepted. We’d like to keep our sponsors as relevant to our core values as possible

Going Out reserves the right to reject or cancel any advertising at any time.

Agreement

We require a letter from the advertiser or agent, ordering the advertising at least three days before the advertising is scheduled to run.

Payment

Payment for all insertions must be made in advance, in local currency (South African Rands – ZAR)
