Help
So you need some help?
Thanks for visiting Going Out.co.za. We are trying to create a website that can be used as an insiders guide to Cape Town, for Capetonian locals and visitors alike.
The content in the site is split up into two main sections.
- (Great) Places, Venues, Things to See and Do etc.
- (Un-missable) Events, which happen at venues or places and are time sensitive.
What’s on the site?
Whatever is chosen to be on the site, whether that is an event, heritage spot or a restaurant, it has to be special. We will not list every single place in Cape Town – there are too many sites that list everything already. We aim to do the filtering process for you, so that when you are on the Going Out website, you shouldn’t have to question if what you are reading about is worth doing.
Some of the criteria that will be used when deciding to ADD something to the website are:
- Would you want to do this if you were in Cape Town for 24/48 hours?
- Would you want to do this if you were in Cape Town for a year?
- When you have finished doing this, do you want to tell your friends, tweet about it or upload the photos?
- Are other people talking about it and are they saying good things?
Here are some of the criteria that will be used when deciding to NOT ADD:
- Is it obvious or run of the mill kind of place or thing to do.
- We’ve heard a few bad things
- The place might be fine and all right and have nothing wrong with it, but there is also nothing that makes the place really special
- We don’t feel passionate enough to write about it
Can you add me or my event to the site?
Well we can. If you want you can suggest something and we’ll review it and add it if we like it.
Where are all the articles?
Well the site is quite new, so we are still working through photos and reviews :-p sorry for the delay.
As for finding what is already here, there are a few options:
- You can do a site search from the top right of the page and relevant articles with thumbnails will be listed
- Everything is laid out in categories and sub categories, so click on a relevant category on the top navigation, the drill down to what you are looking for by clicking on the sub categories.
- Tags. Each article has associated tags. eg. Tasty. If you want to see other articles that are associated with Tasty, click the tag and you will get a list of all the related articles.
Miss anything?
If there is any we missed, please feel free to get in touch, our details are on our contact page!
